Our Story

Some of the most meaningful things begin not in a boardroom, but in a mother's heart.

Holly Botanicals began with my son. When he developed a skin condition that left his skin inflamed and reactive, I searched everywhere for answers. As a Registered Nurse, I paid close attention to product labels, and I was frustrated by the harsh sulfates, synthetic fragrances, and preservatives found in products made for sensitive skin. I wanted something gentler, more thoughtful, and easier to trust.

So I began making soap for my family. I chose each ingredient with purpose, from gentle clays such as French green clay and nourishing botanicals like alkanet root to soothing oatmeal, cocoa, and coconut milk.

These ingredients were not trendy choices to me. I chose them for the ways they can support a gentle, nourishing skincare routine, and my belief that what we use on our skin matters.

What began as a mother's effort to help her son became a passion, and Holly Botanicals was born.

Why We Use Essential Oils in Our Soaps

Not all soaps are created equal. The difference often comes down to the ingredients used to scent and enhance them. Many commercial soaps rely on synthetic fragrances that may smell pleasant but do not offer the same naturally occurring benefits as essential oils.

At Holly Botanicals, we choose essential oils with care, and every one has a purpose:

• They are bioactive. Essential oils contain naturally occurring compounds that complement our formulas and make each wash feel more intentional.
• They complement the cleansing process. Oils such as tea tree and peppermint have natural properties that support a fresh, clean feeling without relying on harsh additives.
• They support a balanced feel. Lavender and Tea Tree are known for their soothing qualities and are chosen to help create a calming skincare experience.
• They avoid unnecessary synthetic fragrance additives. We use pure essential oils instead of adding fragrance simply for the sake of scent.
• They work alongside our botanicals. Essential oils complement the clays, butters, and plant-based ingredients in our formulas, creating a bar that cleanses and nourishes.

We do not add ingredients just because they sound appealing. Every essential oil in a Holly Botanicals bar is chosen for a reason, with your skin's care in mind.
